As a dedicated ESL teacher working with multilingual learners, I am passionate about creating inclusive, engaging learning environments where students feel supported and empowered. With a strong background in teaching K-5, I focus on bridging the language gap through personalized instruction, cultural sensitivity, and innovative strategies.

My experience extends to supporting children with diverse needs, including various learning disabilities and emotional impairments. I aim to help students build confidence and improve their communication skills, preparing them for success both academically and socially. I believe in fostering a classroom where every learner's unique voice is valued and celebrated.

Hello! My name is Sophia Dorsainvil-Johnson (Ms. D-J), and I am one of the 4th and 6th grade ESL teachers here at the Ellis. This is my 4th year teaching in BPS. I was born and raised in Dorchester and after graduating from Boston Public Schools, I went on to study elementary education at Boston University with a promise to highlight joyful and equitable learning in Boston schools. Since then, I have graduated from Boston Teacher’s Residency with my Master’s Degree in Education. When I have freetime, you can find me trying new restaurants, traveling, or watching vlogs on Youtube!

Together, we will help our scholars to become confident advocates for themselves and their communities, celebrate our diversity, and ask questions to deepen everyone's learning! We will practice respect, responsibility, collaboration, and inclusion. My goal is to create a fun, positive, productive, and safe learning environment for your multilingual learner to GO, GROW, & GLOW!

My name is Tess Ordway. I have just joined the Ellis community as an ESL teacher in grades 1 and 2. I am very excited to be here and to meet so many new friends, both big and small.

I grew up in Boston and attended Boston Public Schools. I have taught in BPS since 2010 in a variety of positions from grades K1 to 8. I love working with children and learning about their unique journeys.

In my free time I like to walk, read, and go to the beach. I also love to dance and eat cake.
