MISSION STATEMENT

The David A. Ellis is committed to serving the academic and social wellness needs of our students so that each child understands the complexities of the world around them, identifies the strength of their voice, and makes change.
3 YEAR TRANSFORMATION VISION

The David A. Ellis vision is to continue making great strides to become a school that is reflective and representative of the cultures of all the students and their families. With a joint focus on strong academics and social-emotional learning, the school will have a welcoming environment where everyone seeks to respect themselves, respect each other and respect the learning. This environment will be created by clear and consistent expectations that all are supported and held accountable to meet.

Teachers support the learning through increased small group instruction and common intervention blocks which allow students to gain a sense of responsibility for their own learning. Classrooms are centers of learning with adequate resources, technology and staffing to support the development of 21st-century learners. Woven into all this is a strong sense of pride and belonging to the Ellis community and identity worth celebrating.
"You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining.  You make progress by implementing ideas."
